Special Read / Big news for government employees: The government made this announcement regarding pensions




The central government has given a big facility to its employees. The central government has now allowed eligible employees to leave the National Pension Scheme (NPS) and avail the benefits of the old pension scheme (OPS). The department has issued a notification to regularize the services of Central Government employees under the National Pension Scheme (NPS). The central government has now allowed eligible employees to leave the National Pension Scheme (NPS) and avail the benefits of the old pension scheme (OPS). Its benefit can now be taken till 31st May 2021.




Eligible employees will have to apply by May 5, 2021 to avail the old pension scheme (OPS). Employees who do not apply will continue to receive benefits as per the rules of the Nation Pension System. On the other hand, employees employed between 1 January 2004 and 28 October 2009 and receiving benefits under the CCS (Pension) Rules will continue to receive the same benefits as before.


What is the whole matter?


Experts say the old pension scheme is more beneficial than the NPS. The old scheme is getting more benefits. In the old scheme, along with the pensioner, his family is also protected. If employees get the benefit of OPS, their retirement will be secured.
