An action plan will be prepared

In a meeting of the state cabinet held at Gandhinagar, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama had tabled a proposal to start schools. Ministers including Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel gave their views. The cabinet finally approved the reopening of schools that had been closed since March 2020. However, as Kovid-19 has not yet been fully exempted, it was decided to plan ahead for what kind of rules would be drawn up to run schools. Accordingly, a meeting will be held with top officials including Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Nitin Patel and Education Minister. The meeting will prepare an action plan on what kind of rules should be followed for running schools. The schools will be reopened in compliance with the action plan, Minister Chudasama said.

Minister Chudasama added that a proper discussion was held in the meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani yesterday to start educational work in schools and colleges in the state. The Chief Minister had instructed to form an SOP in this regard. A meeting has been held today with the top officials of the education department and instructions have been given to form an SOP which will be formed in the next two-three days. Appropriate decision will also be taken after considering online discussion with the Vice Chancellors of various universities.

The Minister added that instructions have also been given to the higher officials to start SOP immediately to start the educational work in Std. 9 to 12. He added that after the SOP was ready, the state government would take appropriate decision on when to start educational work in schools and colleges under the coordination of Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Nitinbhai Patel and the Health Department
